It is used to measure dew or frost point in flight or in installations with existing flow, such as wind tunnels. The Vigilant is commonly used in government and private applications in atmospheric studies, hurricane measurements, pollution studies, cloud and ice formation, and wind tunnel profiling.
A specially designed remote dew/frost point sensor can be mounted through the skin of the aircraft. Alternately, the sensor may be permanently mounted to the control unit.
The Vigilant’s primary method chilled mirror dew/frost point detection method assures precision accuracy, high repeatability and high reliability. All certifications and calibrations are traceable to NIST.
The Vigilant features a miniature, remote, primary method chilled mirror dew/frost point sensor employing a platinum resistance thermometer. The aircraft sensor has 15 feet of interconnecting cable to the control unit. Custom cable lengths are available.
Two stage or three stage sensors are available as required to fit application specifications. The Vigilant is military qualified.
